Inter RAO denies information about sale of ENA
The Russian Inter RAO denied the information that it conducts negotiations over the sale of the Electric Networks of Armenia
CJSC. “At this moment no talks are held on the sale of the Electric Networks of Armenia”, the representative of the company told
Interfax. In the morning of June 29 the Russian Коммерсантъ wrote that the protest actions, held in Armenia due to the increase of the energy tariff, may make Inter RAO UES sell the Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC. The holding has already conducted corresponding negotiations. The newspaper wrote that the Russian holding had already negotiated with the businessmen, including the owner of Tashir Group Samvel Karapetyan. Though, as the newspaper stated, there might be some problems with the sale of the company. The Electric Networks of Armenia has considerable debts and the demonstrators demand that the authorities do not compensate the damages from the state budget.
In their turn the representatives of Tashir Group informed Коммерсантъ that the company has not purchased the Electric Networks of Armenia.
“If there is a statement about the sale of the company, at that time any company may understand, studying the conditions,
how economically beneficial it will be to purchase a company with huge debts”, - Коммерсантъ cites the words of the Group’s
representative.
