Discussion of the program of teaching Armenian to the children from Diaspora who arrived in Armenia within “Ari tun” project
The head of the Department of General Education of Yerevan Municipality Gayane Soghomonyan met with the teachers teaching Armenian to the children from Diaspora who visited Armenia within “Ari tun” (“Come home”) project.
Discussing the two-week teaching program the head of the Department of General Education offered to organize the trainings dividing the children into groups in accordance with the level of their knowledge of Armenian so that the two-week trainings could be maximally useful and all the children could learn more than patriotic songs and some general themes. Mrs Soghomonyan expressed willingness to show all necessary methodological and other support in this issue. The study is carried out at the municipal school N 1 after St. Shahumyan. The lessons are delivered by the specialists of Yerevan educational system.
It’s the 7th year 13-18 year old children have visited Armenia within “Ari tun” project and lived in the hospitable families in Yerevan and other communities of Armenia. In this period, besides going sightseeing throughout Yerevan and Armenia the children also attend two-week Armenian classes.
